Help Donna's family during this difficult time

My dear friend Alexis and her family are in need of our help. Her mom, Donna Keeton had been fighting a tough battle, which all started on August 15th 2021. Donna was a fully Vaccinated individual and  unfortunately tested positive for COVID 19 on August 25th, 2021 as well as double pneumonia. Her journey unfortunately did not stop there. 

She was in the Hospital since August 28th, 2021 exhausting all efforts to help her body heal. Doctors and nurses say that this was the worst case of covid that has been seen in a fully vaccinated patient to date. On September 16th she was released from isolation and transported to MICU and placed on a ventilator and sedation. During this time the nurses and doctors effortlessly tried to help Donna breathe better by placing her from back to stomach. Sadly, everytime she was moved to her back she was unable to breathe appropriately. After, Exhausting all efforts Donna was placed in a medicated induced coma, to help her body heal from these infections. 

After consultation after consultation, imaging, and many blood cultures her healthcare team finally discovered she had not only sepsis but also an infection in her bloodstream. This made it harder for her health care providers to find an antibiotic to successfully treat her.  

On October 4th, Donna started showing some improvements and was able to have some of her medications including her paralytics and sedations be reduced and some even removed altogether. Donna continued to remain stable, yet critical.

Amongst everything else she also had to be put on a daily dialysis regimen as her kidneys began to shut down. We still remained hopeful that against all odds Donna would pull through. As time went on her treatment plan seemed to be working and she was beginning to show positive signs of improvement. She was slowly being reduced on paralytics and ventilations. Things were moving in the right direction, or so we thought.

Unfortunately, after a long fighting battle for the past three months, Donna Keeton passed away on October 26th, 2021.  She fought a long battle, which her body was no longer able to withstand, she was simply exhausted and her heart couldn’t take it any more. She is now no longer in pain or suffering and is now resting in heaven with her parents, sister, and her dog coco. 

Donna’s family is having a really hard time with this new normal and is in need for our help with funeral expenses as this was unexpected and nothing has been put together. Donna had such a kind hearted soul and is always willing to help a friend, stranger, and even our little fur babies. Today, we ask you to return the favor and help her family with any amount of donation you can.
