Help Donna West Fight Stage 4 Brain Cancer
Donation protected
Dear Friends and Community Members,
We are writing to you with a heavy heart to share the story of our mother, Donna West, a cherished member of our community and a dedicated caregiver. Approximately three weeks ago, after an unfortunate accident that took her to the emergency room, doctors discovered a large brain tumor occupying the entire left side of her temporal lobe. She was immediately admitted to Swedish Hospital and underwent brain surgery within two days.
Donna has been diagnosed with a glioblastoma brain tumor and stage 4 brain cancer. This diagnosis is incredibly challenging, and while we hold onto hope for a long journey ahead, the road will undoubtedly be difficult. Recently, we also learned that a second tumor is growing in the right side of her brain, further complicating her health situation.
Donna has spent her life caring for others, first as a nurse and then as a family nurse practitioner in our community for decades. Her compassion and dedication have touched countless lives, and now, in her time of need, we have an opportunity to give back to her.
As we navigate her health and treatment plan, Donna faces many appointments, some requiring extensive travel. She will soon begin radiation and chemotherapy treatments and, unfortunately, can no longer work. The funds raised through this campaign will go towards covering medical expenses, travel costs, home health care, and caregiving, as well as potential clinical trials that may require out-of-state travel. Additionally, these funds will help supplement the loss of income and provide for full-time nursing care, which may become necessary as her condition progresses.
Her family is currently providing care, but the future remains uncertain, and we may need additional support. Any contribution you can make will be deeply appreciated and will help alleviate some of the financial burdens during this challenging time.
If you feel inclined to donate, please know that your support means the world to us. We also welcome any personal messages or stories of encouragement for Donna. Your love, hope, and spirit are invaluable.
As the saying goes, "Cancer cannot cripple love, it cannot shatter hope, it cannot conquer the spirit."
Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
