Donna, my sister, has always faced life despite her challenges. She is half blind and lives with a mental disability, making everyday tasks and independence much harder. For years, Donna lived with our mom, who provided her with the support and care she needed. However, since last February, our mom has moved into nursing care, and Donna has been left to manage on her own.

Donna receives a small amount from social security, but it is only enough to cover her utilities. She is now struggling to pay her rent and is at risk of being evicted from her home. The thought of her losing her safe space is heartbreaking, especially after all the changes she’s already endured this year.
