Help Donna Rest and Heal from Painful Injury
Donation protected
Hello everyone,
For those of you who don’t know our sweet Donna, please know she is one of the kindest, most compassionate individuals I have ever known and would not hesitate to do whatever she could for someone in need. Well, she is now the one in need of our support, and I’m appealing to all of you to help give that to her.
While doing one of the exercises at a PT session (for something unrelated), she wrenched her right shoulder which resulted in a complete tear of her rotator cuff. The injury had clear witnesses, has been documented and a claim is in the works so restitution should be forthcoming at some point, but we know this takes time and red tape and she is in need immediately. She will be having surgery to repair her shoulder in October but in the meantime, though she has tried to continue her work as a hairstylist, the pain of this injury is proving to make that impossible. She has had to stop in the middle of services on several occasions and as her friend and coworker who works alongside her, I have witnessed all of this in person and am seeing the toll it is taking on her body and spirit.
It took much encouragement from me, but she is finally willing to allow me to start this GoFundMe so that she can stop working immediately, which I believe should’ve happened as soon as she was injured. For now, while she is exploring other options for immediate assistance, I am seeking help to cover her expenses until the end of September, when hopefully by then some of the other options for support can start coming through.
We have sat together and gone over all of her expenses and trust that the amount being asked for is only what is truly needed. Please give if you can. Anything helps and I know she will be eternally grateful for your generosity and care during this frightening and painful time for her.
I jokingly tell her that this is really a selfish act on my part because I personally cannot watch her be in pain like this anymore. Joking, not joking. No one should have to work in this kind of pain because they are afraid of losing housing and buying groceries before restitution arrives. She should only be resting that arm in peace.
Thank you so much for reading and for any contribution, please let’s move quickly and let her rest and recover while she awaits her surgery.
All my best,
Sharyn
