I am 71 years old and live alone. Two years ago, my husband left me without any money or transportation, and since then, I have worked hard to stay independent. I get by on SSI and a part-time job, and I’ve managed to handle every challenge that’s come my way. But in January, a storm tore the siding off my house, leaving me with damage I can’t afford to fix on my own.
My insurance will cover the repairs, but only if I can pay the deductible. For someone in my situation, that amount just isn’t reachable. I’ve always tried to face life’s difficulties without complaint, but this time, I need help from my community to get my home back to a safe and livable condition.
It’s not in my nature to ask for help, so this is truly humbling. I can only say that those who choose to help me will forever be in my debt. I cannot express my gratitude enough. Thank you for considering a donation and for supporting me during this difficult time.
