Urgent Eye Surgery – Help Me Prevent Vision Loss, my first surgery date is: March 26, 2026. My second surgery date is April 2, 2026
Hi everyone,
I am reaching out during a difficult moment of my life. I have recently been diagnosed with two very serious eye conditions: Posterior Subcapsular Cataracts and Recurrent Corneal Erosion.
These are not minor issues. Posterior subcapsular cataracts affect the back of the lens in my eyes and can progress quickly, severely impacting vision. Recurrent corneal erosion causes repeated damage to the surface of my cornea, leading to intense pain, extreme photosensitivity, blurred vision, and ongoing deterioration. Together, these conditions are threatening my eyesight.
My doctors have made it clear that surgery is necessary to prevent permanent vision loss. Without treatment, I could potentially go blind. In the words of my eye surgeon, "these conditions can cause you to go from fine to blind in a matter of months, weeks, sometimes even days".
I do have insurance, but unfortunately it will not cover the remaining balance of my surgery and related medical costs. I am responsible for a large out-of-pocket amount that I simply cannot afford on my own. My surgeries are already scheduled for March 26, 2026 and April 2, 2026 and time is critical.
I am asking for help to cover:
The remaining surgical balance
Hospital and specialist fees
Anesthesia costs
Post-operative medications and follow-up appointments
This is incredibly hard for me to ask, but my vision is everything — my independence, my ability to read, to see the people I love. I am doing everything I can financially, but I cannot meet this urgent deadline without support.
If you are able to donate, no matter the amount, it would mean more than I can express. If you are not in a position to give, sharing this fundraiser would help tremendously.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for any support, prayers, or encouragement you can offer. I am holding onto hope, and I am deeply grateful for every bit of kindness during this frightening time.
With heartfelt thanks,
Donna B.
