Prayer Request

Hi everyone,

I want to take a moment to share something personal and ask for your prayers.

At the end of August, Donna Lee came down with COVID, which eventually turned into the flu. Not long after, she started experiencing seizures again — one of which happened on September 9 while she was walking into work. An ambulance had to be called, and she was taken to the ER where she underwent several tests and lab work.

A few days later, she got a call about her labs, and doctors found signs of an autoimmune disease — although they weren’t yet sure exactly which one. Since then, she has been dealing with a growing list of symptoms: severe joint pain, hands and feet turning blue, and most heartbreaking of all, total hair loss. Losing all her hair has been one of the hardest things she has ever gone through, but she has been leaning on her faith and trusting that God is in control — even when she doesn’t understand it.

At a follow-up with her primary doctor, her and her doctor discussed several possible autoimmune conditions, including CVID (Common Variable Immune Deficiency) and SIBO. After careful thought and prayer, her doctor referred her to Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville to see both a neurologist and an autoimmune specialist. Just yesterday, she received confirmation that her referral had been accepted, and she should be hearing from them soon to schedule the first appointment.

Because of all this, she had to be placed on medical leave through at least February to focus on her health and treatment. It’s hard to step back from work, but she knows it’s what is needed right now to get her health under control.

On top of her health struggles, my son in law, Donna Lee’s husband, also had a setback — at the beginning of September, he fell and dislocated his patella. We just found out yesterday that he will need surgery on October 8 and will be out of work for 12 weeks as he recovers.

We’re facing a lot right now, both physically and emotionally, but we are holding on to hope and faith through it all.

I would deeply appreciate your prayers — for clarity, healing, strength, and peace for both of them. Please also pray for wisdom for the doctors we’ll be working with and that we’ll find a clear path forward. Your encouragement, love, and support mean more than we can put into words.

At this time, the biggest concern is the expenses that will be needed for gas, lodging and etc.
