Hello everyone,
My name is Donia Mahmoud, a high school student at STEM Red Sea School (Class of 2026) in Egypt. Since I was a child, I’ve been deeply passionate about physics and engineering. This passion has driven me to seek out every possible opportunity to grow in the field—whether through programs, self-learning, or impactful extracurricular activities.
Recently, I was honored to be accepted into one of the most competitive and prestigious engineering programs in Africa: The Engineering Leadership Program (ELP) at the African Leadership Academy (ALA)، in partnership with Chevron.
Only 50 students were selected from the entire continent, and just 4 were accepted from Egypt.
Over the course of 10 days in South Africa, we’ll be immersed in hands-on learning in engineering, leadership, and entrepreneurship —skills I’ve always strived to develop, and that I want to bring back to my community.
I’m incredibly grateful that ALA has offered me a full scholarship covering:
Program tuition
Accommodation
Round-trip flight
However, the only costs not covered are the passport and visa fees, which are approximately 100€ Unfortunately, I cannot afford this amount at the moment, and it’s the only thing standing between me and this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
That’s why I’ve created this GoFundMe. Any contribution—no matter how small—would mean the world to me and help make this dream come true.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read my story, and thank you in advance for your kindness and support. Even just sharing this means a lot. ❤
