Help Dondi With Medical Expenses

Hello everyone,

Our Dad is about to undergo major surgery next week, getting an irreversible colostomy due to SCC Cancer. He and our mother will be met with a lot of out-of-pocket expenses for colostomy supplies and medical expenses. Our mother is unable to take FMLA; she will have to take at least two weeks off work unpaid. We are asking for a little help financially to aid in out-of-pocket costs; whatever you can give is much appreciated. We understand times are hard for everyone right now. If you are unable to give, we ask that you please share this GoFundMe and get the word out!

Here is his story:

So, a little update on myself. Those of you that didn't know... I was diagnosed with SCC cancer (squamous cell carcinoma) almost 2 years ago. I was told with chemo and radiation there was a 96% success rate. I did a total of 8 weeks of treatment and everything seemed great. My 6-month post-treatment PET scan looked great except for a tiny spot that I was told was probably traces from radiation burns... not to worry about it. A month or so later, a spot popped up in the radiated area and I was referred to a dermatologist who did a biopsy. I was told the biopsy was normal, so we treated the spot as a stubborn radiation burn. I started treatment at a wound center and did 55, 2-hour treatments M-F over 3 months. The spot seemed slightly better but no real change. Then this past fall, Danielle went from working at Kettering to TriHealth and a whole new set of doctors looked at my wound. The first thing they wanted was a biopsy, and it came back as cancer. They believe the cancer was resistant to the treatment (I fell into the 4% that treatment doesn't kill the cancer) and had the dermatologist done a punch biopsy instead of a scrape biopsy, it would've caught the cancer over a year ago. Fast forward to today... I'm preparing for an APR surgery with a permanent colostomy in less than 2 weeks.

That's where I'm at and would appreciate all the prayers, positive thoughts, and vibes you can send my way.
