We all need help sometimes, and now I'm the one that needs help.

My name is Donald, I'm a 58 year old i9 contract delivery driver, that lives and works out of my car. Living out of my car was intentional move so that it would be easier for me to save money and in a few years buy a few acres of land and build a tiny/small off grid house once I was ready to retire. That was the plan at least.

"Even the best laid plans..."

On May 28th of this year, after a decent day of making deliveries, I pulled into a regular overnight parking spot so I could eat dinner and then get some sleep. But of course this is where my best laid plans went off the rails and into the wilds. The engine sputtered for a few seconds and died. I tried a few times to restart the car. Nothing, the starter was trying but still nothing, I had half of a tank of gas, but the gas wasn't getting to the engine. It had to be the fuel pump...

So there I was, sitting in a truckstop parking lot, a fuel pump that would never pump fuel again and less than $100 in my checking account.

No family to reach out to, no local friends to ask for the kind of help I needed.

So where is the money going to go?

$5500- Getting the car towed to a reputable repair shop, diagnostics, and lastly, whatever repairs needed to get the car and me safely back on the road and back to work.

$1500- Until the gofundme is adequately funded, while I'm stranded at the truckstop and unable to work I still need to eat at least once a day. Anything left over will roll over into repairs that the diagnostics find.

The faster my funding goal is met, the faster I can get back on the road and back to work.

I realize there are a multitude of campaigns that are more urgent than mine. But that doesn't make mine any less deserving of funding. Mine is just one of the many.

Every day I tell myself that there are people in situations worse than mine.

Every day I try to be kinder and more compassionate in thought and actions towards others.

Every day I hope I'll be found deserving of the help I need to get my life back on track.
