Help Don and Mike as they face terminal cancer

It is with heavy hearts that we share that Don’s time on Earth is nearing its end. In early August Don was diagnosed with Lung Cancer that had already metastasized into other areas of the lung, bones, etc. A PET scan confirmed the diagnosis and that the cancer had spread quite rapidly, affecting other areas, such as the liver. A liver biopsy confirmed the diagnosis and that the cancer has spread rapidly and there is no treatment at this time.

To quote Don: "Doctor is sending a referral to Hospice, mainly for ease of pain/control. I turned down a meeting with an oncologist because it would involve radiation and chemo for a few extra months. Although life is precious, I don't think it is worth it for me. So the goal is to manage everything to a good level and enjoy. I am ok with this. :)"

 Don also said in a recent FB post: " The most important thing I want everyone to know is that I thoroughly enjoyed my life and am leaving this beautiful life without regrets. I have had so much fun, been a lot of places, met so many incredible people, have the best family and friends plus my partner Mike of almost forty years".

 While Don and Mike are so grateful for all of the love and support they are currently receiving, there are also financial concerns for upcoming unplanned expenses. Don and Mike have lived on a fixed income for many years. Don lost his long-term disability when he turned 65 last month and his life insurance also expired at that time.
