Our father Don is fighting cancer and needs our help. We are raising funds for his medical care and to restore power to his off-grid home in Baja. Every dollar, prayer, and share means the world

Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted supporters,

We are reaching out during an incredibly difficult time for our family. Our beloved father, Don Krouse, successfully overcame prostate cancer in recent years—but sadly, the cancer has returned in a much more aggressive form.

Just a few months ago, Don received the heartbreaking news that he has a large, cancerous tumor in his intestines. Due to its current size and location, it is “inoperable at this time”. Since December, Don has endured multiple hospital stays, numerous blood transfusions, and a minor operation to stabilize his health and help him regain enough strength to undergo major surgery.

We remain hopeful. His doctors believe that with continued treatment and professional care, Don will be strong enough to undergo surgery to remove the tumor and take steps toward recovery. However, the path ahead is long and difficult. Don will need at least a year of intensive care including regular medical treatments (radiation and/or chemotherapy) and in-home nursing support, much of which is not covered by insurance. This has placed a heavy financial burden on both him and our family.

Who is Don?

Don Krouse is a San Diego native, a retired home builder, and a devoted father of three. Years ago, he followed his heart to the southern tip of *Baja, Mexico*, drawn by his deep love for the local people, the rich culture, and the ocean surf. Known for his generous heart, resilient spirit, and unwavering kindness**, Don has become a beloved figure in his local expat community—always willing to lend a hand or share a story.

Now, he’s the one who needs our help.

More Than Medical Care

Not only are we raising money for Don’s cancer treatments, but also to restore power to his primary residence. Living off-grid in Mexico has unique maintenance demands, and due to his declining health over the past year, Don has been unable to keep up with them. His solar power system is no longer functioning, leaving him without reliable electricity.

Don is not the kind of man who would ever ask for help. In fact, it took time for us to even discover just how **grim and isolated his situation had become**. We’re now doing everything we can to ensure he receives the care, safety, and dignity he deserves.
