Hi. I am Chris Moen, Don's wife. Don has had a major medical issue. Earlier this month Don developed a bacterial infection. This infection has affected his blood, heart, lungs, kidneys, spleen, left knee, disks in his lower back and possibly the brain. He has difficulties with speech and motor functions. He is hospitalized and undergoing multiple tests, MRI's, Xrays, Echocardiograms, and CT scans. He is being treated with antibiotics to help get ahold of the infection. There is a possibility that he will have surgery on the knee and heart. The will depend on the out of the tests being done. He will also need to undergo physical and speech therapy. At this time, he needs assistance on many daily items that we all take for granted. (walking, feeding and dressing himself etc.) The doctors feel at this time he will make a good recovery, but it will take time. They are estimating 4-6 weeks before he is out of the hospital, then therapy and home care will be needed.
