Help Don live with ALS

Hi my name is Lauren Feige and I'm raising funds for my father Don Feige.

My father would like to say:

I am a husband, grandfather, father, brother, uncle, cousin, teacher, coach, friend, and lover of peaceful forests and times.

It is with humility that I ask you for help. This is hard for me to do. I was diagnosed with genetically produced ALS in October 2023. Our time here to accomplish and do things over time will not happen now because of the compressed time we have left. There are things that I need, and things I want to humbly leave for Susan, which will only happen with help.

I have loved my life. My childhood, high school, and college were all amazing. I loved my career of teaching for 30 years. I loved the students in my classes and the colleagues I worked with. I enjoyed family gatherings and vacations with friends and family. My 5 children are all doing well, and my 6 grandchildren are wonderful. My wife Susan has been super caring and loving to me, and without hesitation, helping me to live my best life possible with ALS.

Of course, I would love more years to enjoy life. Susan and I believe this is my second year with ALS. I hope I can live another two years or more, but there are no guarantees.

For myself, a ramp to our front porch for a wheelchair, and an extra-long double bed for me to sleep downstairs. Also, several ramps, and extra items for the shower and toilet, so that everything is accessible to me.

For our whole house, a whole house emergency generator.

For us, two weeks in California in August 2024 for me to say goodbye to family and friends and anyone who would like to see us.

We simply can't afford to do these things without help. I believe having the help will allow us to do many of these things and give me a peaceful ending.
