Help Don King get a new heart.
Donation protected
Hey Everyone,
This 'Go Fund Me' page is for my dear friend Don King.
Don contracted a virus a few years back that attacked his heart, crippling it from fully functioning down to functioning at only 45%. Despite this he continued to work to provide for his family.
He is now at a critical place where his heart is only functioning at 15%, and has therefore had to quit his job and apply for disability. This has been a very difficult time for Don.
He has now been placed on the transplant list, but doesn't know if it will be 2 days, or 2 years before he receives his new heart.
Don has worked very hard this past year to become a good candidate for the transplant, including losing 50 pounds, and changing his lifestyle.
Don has been told that he will need a minimum of $10,000 set aside for when the surgery takes place. With being on disability, this is simply not possible, without asking for help.
I have set up this page in hopes to raise enough funds so Don can focus on his health and not worry about the financial burden this is putting on his family.
Post surgery, Don has been told he will need to relocate to Vancouver for 3 months and find a place to live. Accommodation is not provided or covered.
The money raised will go to cover his rent, transportation, food, medical needs that aren't covered by insurance, and day to day costs of living.
His wife, Sharon, will continue to live in Nanaimo, and travel back and forth to see Don in Vancouver. Covering the costs of 2 households is impossible without help.
I am hoping, if you are able, that you will donate to help Don during this very challenging time.
Every donation will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your consideration.
