Help Don in his Battle against Cancer
Donation protected
Dear Friends,
We are reaching out on behalf of our friend and colleague Don Compton, a bassist in the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra.
Don has prostate cancer which has spread to his bones, and is undergoing further treatments this fall of 2024. As you can imagine, the costs associated with his care are high. Don could use any help possible to tide him through this difficult time. Don is having a lot of trouble with fatigue and weakness while undergoing treatment, and this affects his ability to do many everyday things.
Don has been making music with us as a member of the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra since 1977! He lights up the Schuster Center stage with both mean electric bass and great classical double bass skills. Don loves to shoot the breeze about bands and orchestras of every genre. I like to think of him as my big stoic friend who really, really loves his cat!
I have been very lucky to have a strong support system of friends and family, but I know that Don has not been as lucky in life. If you have received a post, message, or email about Don's fundraiser, know that we as a group are his available support. No donation is too small or too large, and sharing and posting is in itself tremendously valuable. Anything you can do is most sincerely and truly appreciated.
Thank you for your kindness, support, and prayers!
