Help Don celebrate St. Croix with his Music!

Hi Everyone:
My name is Don Moors and I’ve been a working jazz vibraphonist my entire adult life. I’ve had an interesting career as a full time musician.
Caribbean roots, trained at Berklee College, spent a decade making other people’s R&B hits in the L.A. studios (LTD, The Manhattans, Tavares, etc.), toured with a diverse group of artists - Roberta Flack, Marvin Gaye, Trini Lopez - and led my own bands. I have two previous releases currently available online (donmoors.hearnow,com) if you’d like to find out what I’m about musically.
At this point, on the back end of a lengthy career,
I need your help.
The pandemic all but eliminated my employment but left me with free time to compose new music.
The Project
I want to record a tribute album of original compositions dedicated to St. Croix, USVI (my home for a number of years prior to relocating back to the states). This won’t be a traditional Caribbean music album. It will be my jazz interpretations of St. Croix. Technology will allow me to do something different: I’m in Atlanta but I’m going to use friends in both St. Croix and California to complete the project.
And, I have already done the cover art myself so we saved that cost! *
Expenses
Your contribution will cover the following expenses:
• Recording costs
• Payment to Musicians
• Mixing & Mastering
• Physical copies (CDs)
• Registration/ Copyrights
• Marketing
• Promotion
• Cover Art (*Nope…)
Your Participation
Your donations and generosity are the only things that will make this album possible. I lately describe myself as “A musical anachronism at the peak of my skills” and that’s pretty accurate. This will likely be my final project. I don’t think I’ll be actively playing mallets in my 90’s. (but who knows? I have no other skill set…)
Jazz is America’s musical contribution to the world’s art forms and I want to leave a legacy of value. This labor of love is in your hands.
