On August 31, 2026, my father Don and my sister Chelsea were both seriously injured in an accident that has upended their lives in an instant. My father's foot was run over by a vehicle, causing severe trauma. We're currently waiting to see a specialist to determine the full extent of the damage and what surgeries he'll need. Chelsea was dragged by the same vehicle, suffering road rash and internal injuries down her left side, including a hand injury that has left her unable to use it normally.

Right now, my dad can't walk and needs help with everyday tasks, from getting dressed to moving around the house, plus multiple wound dressing changes every single day. Beyond the physical pain, this was a significantly emotionally traumatizing event and they need and deserve care to get through this time.

I've come in from out of town to help care for them both and have taken time off work to be here. But I'll need to return home soon, and I want to make sure they're set up to keep healing safely and with dignity once I'm gone.
