I’m Dominic, and I’m asking for help as I face the hardest fight of my life. I’ve been diagnosed with an 8.5 cm cancerous mass in the center of my chest, and in what feels like no time at all, the medical bills have started piling up faster than I ever imagined. Every test, scan, and appointment seems to bring another overwhelming expense. I truly hate having to ask for help, and I tried to handle everything on my own for as long as I could, but things have changed quickly.

I was recently admitted to the ER with severe chest pain, and imaging showed that the mass has grown. Because of that, I’m scheduled for emergency surgery this week to remove as much of the mass as possible. After surgery, I expect to be out of work and unable to function normally for 6 to 8 weeks before I can even begin chemotherapy. During that time, I’ll be trying to recover physically while also facing the stress of mounting medical debt and everyday financial pressure.
