Dominic Bowles, a senior at Cuyahoga Falls High School, has always been inspired by his father’s stories of working on a family farm. Growing up in downtown Cleveland, Dominic witnessed firsthand the impact of pollution and environmental challenges, which fueled his desire to make a difference through sustainable agriculture. His passion for the environment and commitment to helping the earth led him to join his school’s Agriculture program, where he has thrived and found a clear sense of purpose.
This year, Dominic joined the Living City Farms team as a seasonal employee after connecting with us through his school’s volunteer initiative. From the start, he impressed everyone with his dedication, curiosity, and strong work ethic. Whether planting field crops or learning about the importance of beneficial insects, Dominic approached every task with enthusiasm and a genuine desire to learn. His time at the farm has only deepened his commitment to pursuing a career in agriculture and sustainability.
Dominic now has the opportunity to participate in the EF “Agriculture in Belgium & the Netherlands” Career Readiness tour, where he’ll explore cutting-edge farms, urban agriculture, and innovative sustainability practices. He’s especially excited to see advanced greenhouses and learn how agriculture can be adapted to different environments. This experience will help Dominic clarify his future career path and inspire new projects, like starting a microgreen operation at home. We’re raising funds to cover his travel costs and program fees, with a goal to secure his spot by February. Supporting Dominic means investing in a young person who is dedicated to making a positive impact on our world through agriculture. Thank you for helping him take this important next step.
