My son Dominic is going through an extremely rough time, and as his parent, I have never done anything like this before. My family and I are reaching out for help for our son, hoping to bring him some happiness during an unimaginably difficult period. Recently, my mother passed away, and just days later, I lost my job because I needed to take time off to be with her and to care for Dominic, who is disabled. Since then, I have been searching for work to support my family, but the challenges have been overwhelming. I know that many people are struggling right now, which makes asking for help even harder, but we are hoping for a little kindness to help Dominic experience some joy.
Dominic’s journey has been filled with hardship. In his early twenties, he had a tumor on his spine, which doctors removed as much as possible. After a brief period of stability, the tumor returned even larger, requiring another surgery and radiation therapy. Over the past two years, Dominic has been in and out of hospitals and rehab centers. Just before his 30th birthday, he was told he would never walk again and that the tumor had spread, with no further treatment options available. Since then, he has been confined to a wheelchair and bed, and has faced additional complications, including bladder and kidney issues. As of today, he is back in the hospital due to new health concerns.
We want to make the most of the time we have with Dominic by taking him on a trip of his choice. To do this, we need to install a tow hitch on our car and get a trailer, so we can safely transport him and create special memories together. We are asking for your support to help make this possible. Please do not share this fundraiser with Dominic, as we want to keep his spirits up and not cause him any distress. Our deepest appreciation goes out to everyone who reads this and considers helping. Your kindness means more than words can express.
