Help Dom Raise Money To Study In New York

My name is Dominic Price and I've set up this crowd fund because I've been accepted on an acting course for professionals in New York.

 

When I was six years old, we went on a family trip to see 'Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone'. I remember being utterly engrossed by it. Seeing people not far from my age on the big screen changed something inside me. As we were coming out of the cinema, I turned to my mum and asked, 'Can kids be in movies?' She replied, 'Of course they can.' To which I replied, 'That's what I want to do.'

 

And I never looked back. Acting has been my dream, passion and career ever since, and my thirst for it has only grown over the years.

 

In 2018 I graduated from Mountview and went straight into working on the West End production of 'The Woman In Black'. From there I went onto the UK tour, and I was also lucky enough to perform in Washington DC during this time. I met wonderful people and had some lovely mentors to learn from along the way. Then this thing called covid happened, and I was on a break for a solid 15 months.

 

It was during this time that I began to think about what I wanted to achieve next with my craft.

 

I started to research and found a professional acting course at the Barrow Group, a nonprofit acting school in Midtown Manhatten. This course is designed for actors who are already working in the industry. The course includes scene study, the business of acting and acting for the screen. Students also work with industry professionals during the course. Writing is my second passion and The Barrow Group also work with writers to develop new writing.

 

After two rounds of auditions, I was offered and place then and there, starting in September. This course has the potential for me to continue growing and honing my craft and aligns with my personal acting goals. I would use this course as a springboard for the next stage of my career.

 

I'm here raising money for an entire year's worth of expenses while I'm in America. This money would cover the cost of the course, visa costs and living costs.

 

£1, £2, £3 more, anything would help me out. I am, of course, exploring other avenues to reach my goal. Creating this page is not something I have taken lightly. I am as determined as ever to get where I want to go. To achieve that dream that Harry Potter plopped down in my head.
