rest easy Dom. Loved forever!

Hi all! My name is Lori and I am creating this GoFundMe for a dear friend of ours who has recently found out he has colon cancer and his health is declining quickly. He has two kiddos, a young daughter and son, and a wonderful wife. He has always had such good spirits, and because he found out so late, there is no cure. Dom is currently on hospice at home and enjoying every day with his family. Please see Dom’s story below.

In November 2023, Dom went in for a colonoscopy and was admitted to the hospital for emergency surgery. They could not complete the surgery because of a blockage and had to do an ostomy. He was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. After 2 weeks in the hospital and recovering from surgery, he started chemotherapy (Folfox) every other week. Dom went to see a surgeon to see about another surgery but was told it would not be effective. We weren't happy with our oncologist, so we decided to get a second opinion and were told the cancer is incurable. We continued chemotherapy and added immunotherapy. We decided to change oncologists/facilities and are now getting much better care. In December 2024, we found out the cancer was spreading and Dom was put on a new chemotherapy, Folfiri.

Message from Dom:

As for money, we have to be very careful. Money is always tight. I have been doing counseling, and insurance doesn't help with counseling but helps with everything else. The hardship for the family is that I miss out on a lot of stuff they do or events for Aviana. Jen has to do a lot more, and I try to help out, but it just depends on the day and how I'm feeling.

Please help out this caring family as they were never planning for something like this to happen and for future preparations for Dom and his family.

Thank you all so much!
