Help Save Dolph – My Family, My Best Friend
Hi, my name is Karl Mitchell, and I’m a driver/mover based out of Dallas, TX. I’m also the proud dad of a 2-year-old fluffy French Bulldog named Dolph. Outside of my kids, Dolph is my everything. He’s not just a dog — he’s family.
Because of my job, I’m sometimes on the road for weeks at a time, which means I occasionally have to rely on sitters or doggy daycares. After trying a few, we thought we’d found the perfect fit. Sadly, that trust was broken in a way I never could’ve imagined.
During a two-week job on the East Coast, Dallas was hit with extreme heat — over 100°F. A few days after I dropped Dolph off, the sitter’s air conditioning went out, but I was never told, and as you may know, French Bulldogs — especially long-haired “fluffs” like Dolph — are extremely vulnerable to heat.
Dolph suffered a heatstroke and in a panic, the sitter poured ice-cold water on him, which sent his body into shock causing tremors and seizure like activity. It didn’t stop there. When she brought him to the vet, she claimed to be his owner and authorized a sedative, one that he may have been allergic to. Dolph is now in critical condition. He needs a plasma transfusion and liver treatment, and the cost is more than $2,400 — care that he needs immediately to survive.
I’m not someone who asks for help easily. But if you’ve ever loved a pet like family, you understand. Anything helps. Whether it’s $1, $10, or just sharing this post — it’s all a blessing.
Thank you for reading, and please keep Dolph in your thoughts.
