My name is Dolores Fair and in 1991, my beloved Husband, Michael, took his life after the Gulf War. My two sons and I moved to Tucson a year later and discovered our Tucson family who accepted us with open arms. My older son, Laurence. joined the Army, and my youngest son, Chris, moved in with his best friend, Daniel. While working a minimum wage job at El Con Mall in the beginning of 2006, Chris was exposed to the deadly fungus, Valley Fever, due to the construction and renovation of the mall.
For 20 years, Chris battled Disseminated Cocci, the clinical name for Valley Fever, which chewed up his spine and affected his brain through Valley Fever Meningitis. Chris went through a stroke, a blood clot in his lungs, a 10- month hospital and nursing home stay, and surgery to remove the deadly fungus from his spinal fluid.
In October of last year, Chris developed kidney failure and spent 6 months in rehab. I was over-joyed when he came home, but 2 weeks later, he developed a pneumonia with three different bacteria. At first, it seemed he would recover. But it was too much for his precious, tired body and he died on Sunday, May 25, just four days short of his 41st birthday.
Chris wanted a simple funeral, because he wanted to make it easy for me, so I just need help with his funeral and I have to move due to the absence of his income.
Please help me bury my son! He was a really special guy! He was funny, intelligent, he appreciated women, and loved all people. I hope you will consider helping me to bury my son and help me move to a smaller house.
Thank you for reading and caring. God bless you and yours!
