Those who know me know that my dog, Dolce, isn’t just a pet — she’s my daughter, my first baby. She’s been by my side through everything: my shadow, my comfort, my heart. Watching her suffer has been one of the hardest things I’ve ever faced.

Over the past week, Dolce has been battling a severe disc injury that’s left her in constant, unbearable pain. Despite multiple emergency vet visits, medications, and specialist care, she’s still hurting. Today, she’s undergoing an MRI and may need emergency surgery, depending on what the scan reveals. The estimated cost for testing and treatment ranges between $8,000 and $14,000. We’re praying surgery won’t be necessary, but we won’t know until we have the results.

The cost of her care is overwhelming, but I can’t stand by and do nothing while my little girl suffers. She’s fought so hard to stay her happy, loving self through it all — but she needs help right now.

Dolce is more than family — she’s Little Davie’s big sister, the first to greet everyone at the door, the queen of cuddles, and the gentlest, happiest soul you could ever meet. If you’ve ever been loved by Dolce, you know just how special she is.
