Over the past year, Boomer, has fought cancer twice. The first time, we were lucky—surgery removed the entire tumor. But the second time, it had spread to several areas, and our world stopped moving when we were told his cancer is terminal.

Walking through this with him has been one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. It’s emotionally exhausting, terrifying, and something no one ever feels prepared for. On top of that, the cost of cancer care for dogs is overwhelming. The bills add up so fast—tens of thousands of dollars between diagnostics, treatments, surgery etc.

I’m incredibly grateful that I’ve been able to afford Boomer’s care. But I can’t stop thinking about the families who don’t get that choice. The ones who love their dogs just as deeply, but are forced to choose between finances and time with their best friend. No one should have to make that decision.

Boomer’s fight has inspired me to turn our pain into something meaningful. Through this fundraiser, I want to help a dog (or maybe even two) receive cancer treatment whose families simply cannot afford it. My community will be able to submit their stories through a google form so I can understand their situation, their needs, and their financial limitations. From there, I’ll choose recipients based on need and the amount raised. Every single dollar (I'll be personally matching donations up to $1000) will be paid directly to the veterinarians providing treatment—nothing goes anywhere else. I'll share proof of this here as well!

Dogs are family. They are our comfort, our joy, our constant. Helping someone get more time with their dog—even a little more—can change everything.
