If you’re a part of the New River Valley, then you’ve definitely heard of Doctor Video, or their sister company ASTA Productions. In fact, there’s a good chance you’ve taken your VCR or TV in for repairs at some point, or you took your kid’s old Nintendo systems back when they were an award-winning, official Nintendo Repair Center, or they were invited to your wedding as DJs or videographers. Mike and Christina Webb have been a prominent part of our community for over 30 years, helping out whenever and wherever they can.
Even if you’ve never actually been inside the store or haven’t actually met them, you’ve probably used one of their many services. As videographers, Mike and Christina have stood in the background to capture some of the most important moments of your life: from first dance recitals to standing at the altar. And if you were lucky enough to attend school with one of their three sons (Robert, David, and Andrew), you have them to thank for filming and editing your theatre performances, proms, and graduations. They have always loved capturing these events for students so they can look back on those special memories as they grow and enter new phases in life.

In April, Christina went into surgery to repair a hernia that had been bothering her for several months and during the procedure, the surgeons found cancer in the surrounding area.
This is the second time in 15 years Christina has battled Primary Peritoneal Cancer. Although we believe she will overcome this, it will still put a heavy financial burden on the Webbs and their business.
You see, another aspect of their business is wedding directing and DJing, summer is often their busiest time of the year. However, since Christina began chemotherapy in June, they are unable to work weddings while she is in treatment. Needless to say, this will have a negative impact on their business.
(Christina introducing the bouquet toss)
Donations will help cover the cost of chemotherapy and keep them going through this difficult time. Since the Webbs have served the NRV for over 30 years, we hope the NRV will take the time to help them--to ensure Doctor Video remains part of our community for many more years to come.
Alternatively, you can also help them by bringing them business. They are hoping to do more VHS/Film transfers as those are easier to fit into a hectic schedule.
