Dear friends, family, and the hockey community,

Our close friend and teammate, Dave “Doc” O’Connel, has recently experienced an unimaginable loss. A devastating fire in the Pacific Palisades destroyed his home. Among the many things lost were his beloved roller hockey gear and equipment – one of Docs many passions and talents.

Doc is a dedicated member of the beach roller hockey community in Santa Monica and Mar Vista, and for those of you that know him, know he’d be the first person to help you if you ever needed it.

Replacing his equipment – skates, pads, sticks, gloves, and more – is not just about getting back to the game; it’s about helping him reclaim this small piece of his life.

We’re reaching out to everyone who has ever shared a game with Doc, experienced his NY/NJ style, or simply knows the bond hockey creates. Your donations, big or small, will go directly toward purchasing new roller hockey equipment and easing some of the burden as he begins to rebuild.
