Help Doc as she fights the beast once more
Donation protected
Do you know that person? The one who is the engine who makes everything run? The one who not only brings the party but is the party? The one who will get in the mud and play with the random kids on the beach? Those of us who know her, know that Dr. Shapkin (or Melissa as some of her friends and family know her) is that person. Unfortunately, right now, the beast (cancer) has attacked her again and she and her family need our help.
Dr. Shapkin is again battling breast cancer. She will be spending the next few weeks receiving radiation treatments followed by additional treatment as her oncologist deems appropriate. During this time, she will be completely unable to work.
Over the course of the past three years, she has battled a first round of cancer, worked almost straight through COVID, dealt with a period of loss of income for Thom, and now this. She won’t ask but she really could use our love and support right now.
Anything you can do to help will be greatly appreciated and will go directly to the family. If you are a patient, Susan is working on a plan for the office. She will be in the office off and on during the next few weeks (at least) and will be returning calls.
Whether you are family, a friend, a patient, or more, if you are looking for more ways you can help, please feel free to reach out to Susan at the office or to Thom. We have also set up a MealTrain which can be found at Meal Train for Dr Melissa Shapkin. Messages to Doc (Melissa) will be returned as she is able but please understand that her stamina is low and by afternoon she is struggling many days.
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, from all of us for the love and support!
