Hiya! I'm Doc Arthur, a 21 year old transman with Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome and hypermobile Ehler's Danlos Syndrome. My heart condition worsened to the point of causing violent convulsions that put me in the ER multiple times, and I was forced to withdraw from my semesters at USU.
Meet Winston (the handsome boy in the cover picture) a service dog that is currently in training. Mackenzie Donaldson from The Misunderstood Canine picked him up and realized that his temperament was perfect for service dog work. When she reached out, my family and I knew he was perfect for me too.
Winston could help my quality of life improve by an incredible amount. He will be able to alert me when my cardiac symptoms are flaring so that I can prevent fainting spells and convulsions. He'll also be able to help me with my mobility when my cane is not enough to stop me from falling. When I'm too weak to get my medications or hydration, he can help retrieve it for me. I want to bring him home, but I can't do it on my own. With your help, you could give this sweet boy a home and help me get back on track working towards my degree!
All the money donated here will cover the cost of traveling to get him, initial vet visits, supplies to continue his training and care, and gear to protect him while he's working as a service dog. Anything left over will go to the ER cost and the Misunderstood Canine for his training and adoption.
