I wanted to share what’s been going on with my sweet pup, Dobby, over the last couple of days. Practically overnight, Dobby went from running and playing like normal to struggling to walk—his paws were knuckling, crossing over, and he kept falling. It was terrifying to see such a sudden change.
After rushing him to an emergency clinic and then to my primary vet, I was referred to UT, where an MRI revealed a slipped disc in his neck (C5–C6) that was pressing on his spinal cord. The best chance for recovery was immediate surgery to remove the disc material. Thankfully, the procedure went well, and Dobby is now in recovery. I’m so grateful for that.
Dobby isn’t just a pet—he’s truly my baby and constant companion. Seeing him go through this has been incredibly hard, but I’m doing everything I can to give him the best chance at a full recovery. He has a long road ahead with strict crate rest over the next four weeks and continued monitoring, but he’s already showing signs that he’s on the mend. I’m hopeful he’ll be back to his happy, active self again.
This all happened very suddenly, and like most unexpected emergencies, it’s come with significant medical expenses that I wasn’t prepared for. I would never hesitate to do everything I could for Dobby, but I could really use some support right now.
If you’re able to donate, share, or even just keep Dobby in your thoughts and prayers, it would mean the world to me. Every little bit helps as I focus on his recovery. Thank you so much for your kindness and support. ❤️
