Hi! I’m Kati, and I started this fundraiser to help cover the cost of service dog training for my dog, Dobby. He’s a one-year-old German Shepherd, and I’ve had him since he was just a few weeks old. Dobby loves car rides and always wants to be by my side. He enjoys going places with me, which is why I think he’ll do great as my service and hearing dog. His favorite thing is when people throw his toys and give him lots of attention.

Being deaf means facing daily challenges in a world that often overlooks accessibility. Important sounds, such as alarms, doorbells, or someone calling your name, can go unnoticed, which affects both safety and independence. A trained hearing service dog can offer practical help and bring more confidence and freedom each day.

We are raising money to pay for a professionally trained service dog from Double H Canine Training Academy. Training costs about $17,000 and covers the specialized skills the dog needs to alert to important sounds and assist with daily tasks.

Dogs in this program are carefully evaluated to ensure they are a good fit before training starts. This helps ensure the training is reliable and high-quality. Even with waitlists of up to two years, this opportunity allows us to begin much sooner. Starting now not only reduces the long wait time but also allows for early bonding and consistent training from the very beginning, both of which are critical to building a strong, dependable partnership.
