Help D’Jango Battle Cushing’s Disease

This is my baby boy, D’Jango. Anybody who has had the pleasure of meeting him knows he’s the sweetest goof around! I’ve had him since we were both babies, him just 4 months old and me going into my senior year of high school. We grew up together and he’s always been there for me, so I want to make sure I do everything in my power to be there for him.
He is almost 13 now, and for the past year we’ve been dealing with a mystery illness that has affected his physical wellbeing as well as his overall personality. It’s been a long journey to finally get an answer, and over the past year of trying to figure out what was going on with him I’ve paid for countless urine tests, blood panels, you name it. One of his symptoms has caused him to be extremely hungry and seek out and ingest non-food items, such as socks. Back in May he swallowed a tube sock that resulted in us having to get emergency foreign body surgery and treatment for pancreatitis at the urgent care veterinary hospital that added up to be over $7,000. Obviously, my partner and I did what we had to do in the moment and have no regrets, but even just that surgery alone took a drained my savings and maxed out my credit. A few months and a few tests later, we finally got a diagnosis of Cushing’s disease. We are so happy to finally have answers and we thought we could do this alone, but between everything leading up to the diagnosis combined with finding out that his medication is going to cost $200 a month, we’ve reached the end of our financial rope.
I’m reaching out to my community for support because I’ve truly run out of options. I’m asking for $12,500 to cover the bills I’ve already racked up and partial assistance with a year’s worth of his Cushing’s meds. Anything would help. This has been a really long, exhausting journey leading up to this diagnosis to say the least, and I just want my dog back to being his happy go lucky, healthy self.
Thank you for reading and for caring about my lil buddy. Everyone in my life has been so supportive throughout this whole mess and I cannot express how much that means to me.
