Djamel Was Diagnosed With Stage 4 Glioblastoma
As many of you already know, Djamel was released from ICE’s custody last week due to his declining health. He was sent to Tallahassee medical center where he was diagnosed with stage 4 Glioblastoma. This is a very aggressive form of brain cancer. Djamel had surgery earlier this week on the two large tumors growing in his brain. They were not able to get all of it, as the cancer was very deep in his brain. He will be receiving chemotherapy and radiation treatments immediately.
Since covid restricts the visiting hours at the hospital, Eva must leave her husband every evening by 7. She is staying in a hotel nearby which is costing her a lot of money. If she returns home, she will have a 2+ hour daily commute to be near her husband. My hope is to help with her hotel costs and meals so she can be near Djamel.
Therefore, sadly this campaign is going to change to more urgent matters.
Many thanks for your concern and help.
Djamel Chakri was removed from his home several days ago by ICE and sent to jail after having his permanent green card taken from him. He faces deportation in just 12 days. For a retainer fee, most lawyers who handle cases like his charge $5k. In total, Djamel's family has been quoted anywhere from $10k-$15k.
Please help their family fight this battle and get Djamel back with his wife and 4 children. They long for their father and need him. He also has a very successful business, Pizza Amore, in Panama City Beach, Florida. It is just weeks before Christmas. Can we help this family be reunited?
The story:
Several years ago, a known criminal entered Djamel's restaurant and demanded his money back for his dinner that was half-eaten. He complained that it was not fresh. Djamel refused since the man had already eaten half of his dinner. The man then became agitated, and threatened Djamel's family's lives. He then had his wife, Eva, contact the police. When the police arrived, instead of arresting the patron with an extensive criminal history, they arrested Djamel for detaining the man in the restaurant. Since this happened in a Commonwealth state, Djamel stood no chance at a fair trial. He served 15 months in jail, and had his permanent green card taken from him. He has been residing in Florida since his release. He has started his life over, and did everything in his power to provide for his family. He is a law abiding citizen. A kind-natured and respected wonderful person who has raised 4 exceptional children. He has a wife who loves him and all of them cannot imagine their lives without him in it.
If you can find it in your heart to help him, we may just be able to stop his deportation to Algeria, and keep him with his family for good.
Thank you so much for reading.
