Help Displaced Gaza Families Rebuild Lives
Donation protected
My name is Mariam and I'm a Palestinian currently in Chicago. I am writing this with the utmost urgency and compassion on behalf of my good friends Ahmed, Asem, Mahmoud, Essam, and Ismail (we are not sharing last names out of respect for families' privacy).
These young men are the heads of household for five large families who were displaced forcefully out of their home in Gaza earlier this year and recently escaped the genocide in Gaza. They are currently in Egypt and while alive, they are stateless without certainty about how to return to "living" today let alone months or years from now.
They are strong, resilient men, currently looking to work - any job - but with the current economic conditions in Egypt coupled with being without papers and "stateless" as a Palestinian from Gaza, just getting started is a struggle. Let's work together as a community to help with the basics of life for the remainder of the year:
Medical attention (life-saving gastro surgeries, chronic disease medicine and prenatal care): $3000 per month
Apartment: $300 per month
Transportation and Utilities: $100 per month
Food and water: $100 per month
Legal fees: $500
Clothing: $200
School and other supplies for babies and small children: $1000
I will PERSONALLY collect and then go to Egypt to distribute the donations, with the goal of doing this end of August (I have done this every month since March / Ramadan this year).
As Anne Frank once said, "No one has ever become poor from giving." Please give, any amount helps, from $5 to thousands.
On behalf of those who I serve, thank you.
