Hi, my name is Khaled Shahein.
First and foremost, I want to express my deepest gratitude to everyone who donated to my previous GoFundMe campaigns when the conflict in Gaza began nearly two years ago. Your kindness and generosity helped my family and many others during some of the darkest times. With your support, we were able to get several loved ones across the border to Cairo, while those still in Gaza received much-needed food, medical supplies, and other essential aid.
This new fundraiser is a continuation of that support because the need hasn’t gone away. In fact, it has only grown.
I’ll be traveling to Cairo soon and hope to take the money donated directly to those who need it most. 100% of the funds will go directly to supporting families in urgent need.
For those who don’t know my family’s story: We are Palestinians. Most of my family is originally from Gaza and many are still there, living under unbearable conditions. From both my mother’s and father’s sides, we have lost over 150 family members. Many more have been injured. Just the other day, one of my uncles passed away in the ICU from bullet wounds. The hospital’s generator failed for just 7 minutes, but it was enough to cut off his oxygen and take his life. On my mother’s side, around 30 family members were killed in a single moment when an airstrike destroyed an entire apartment block.
My family and many others who managed to escape to Cairo are now facing another set of challenges. They are unable to access public services and must rely on expensive private healthcare and other essential needs. They require support for rent, food, and medical treatment. Meanwhile, those still in Gaza continue to live without secure shelter or consistent access to food and medical supplies.
Whatever you can give, no matter how small, will go a long way. Your donations will go directly toward helping families survive and heal.
