My name is Basima Shah, and I am raising funds to provide emergency winter assistance to Afghan families who have been forcibly returned from Pakistan. These families arrived in Afghanistan with no money and no source of income. During the evacuation, all their valuables and cash were taken away. In this freezing winter conditions, they are struggling to survive without shelters and heating.
According to the UNHCR report, around 930,000 Afghans had returned from Pakistan by mid-December 2025. Many are women, children, and elderly people who are now sleeping in tents or overcrowded spaces, exposed to freezing temperatures, cold winds, and hunger.
These families did not return by choice, they were evacuated suddenly and left without resources in a country already struggling with poverty and instability.
Through this fundraiser, my goal is to support 20 of the most vulnerable families in Helmand province of Afghanistan. Although thousands of families are in need, our goal is to provide immediate assistance to 20 families. We may not be able to help everyone, but helping even 20 families and keeping their children warm, can still make a meaningful difference. Your donation can provide urgent relief such as warm blankets and wood for heaters. With these basic essentials, we can keep children warm and help them get through this freezing winter safely.
Even a small contribution can bring warmth and hope to families struggling to survive this life threatening winter. Please help keep them and their children safe and warm during this critical time.
