PLEASE HELP US SAVE OUR HOME! My husband, Bill is a disabled veteran. He was a Seabee. Can do! He gets disability through Social Security and The VA. Its not enough. We are in deep trouble. I'm also disabled but have no insurance and no help. We are drowning. The main thing we need is to pay the taxes on our home. It will be auctioned on June 26th! We will be homeless. I frightened. I can walk only a few steps and my husband is legally blind. Almost totally blind. He also has a Traumatic Brain Injury from his time in the service. He does well but it affects his memory and executive function. I don't know what we are going to do.
To stop the auction we need about $5,600. I'm asking for more because our van is in need of repairs. We lost part of our roof during Hurricane Milton last year. No leaks but half the insulation is gone raising our electric bills. Our ramp is falling apart. I was recently in the hospital for a few days. There are bills heading our way from that.
If we can't reach the $10,000 we will deal with it but we absolutely need that $5,600 no later than June 24 so we can stop the auction.
I no longer have an ID and need money to send for my birth certificate in Pennsylvania and our Marriage Certificate here in Florida. Then I could get Social Security so we won't need to worry about taxes again in the future. My social security would go directly to that. What I'm saying is we won't be a bottomless pit. We have a plan to keep this from happening again in the future.
For now though, we are desperate. Let me tell you a little about my amazing husband and myself. Despite Bill's physical challenges, he never gives up. He takes care of me better than I deserve. He does almost everything around here. Our washing machine is out in a shed. I can't get to it so he does 100% of the laundry. Washing, hanging it to dry, and bringing it in. I only fold it and put away what I can. Bill is a beekeeper! Such an important thing these days. He is my legs! Especially with me still being weak and recuperating. I have gastroparesis and severe arthritis. I suspect a couple of other things but need to be checked for those. I worry about my husband. So much is on his shoulders. He is exhausted and overwhelmed. Yet, he keeps going. I'm frightened of what homelessness would do to him. He deserves so much better. Everybody does but he is my priority.
Please help us. I'm begging. Even if we need to pay back after I get my Social Security, we can arrange that. I can give a little at a time and still put some away for future taxes.
If you can donate, please do. If not, could you share? That helps too! Thank you for any help you can give us.
