Help Disabled Vet & USMA grad avoid being Homeless!

Donation protected
Hey folks,

We just started a GoFundMe account for our dear friend, a disabled Veteran and West Point Woman, Lindsey McNamara.
Lindsey has been struggling financially for a while now, as many of you may know, due to a number of events that were completely out of her control and is now between a serious "rock and a hard place."

She is about to be effectively homeless.

To Note: Lindsey DOES have a job but her income is not nearly enough to keep the foreclosure from occurring.

A little background:
- Lindsey started her own female veteran-owned welding company a number of years ago. As any small business owner knows, those first few years are really precarious. But she did it!
Though just as she was beginning to get her head above water, a number of financial catastrophes struck.
- To make extra money, she had rented out her duplex to a disabled man. Unfortunately, said person turned out to be a drug dealer who not only trashed the property, it turned into a 12-month squatting situation. She lost over $11K in rental revenue and had over $6K in repairs once she finally got him removed.
- During this time, an acquaintance basically dumped his daughter on Lindsey’s doorstep. Because it was an abusive situation, Lindsey did what she always does… She stepped up to the plate and took her in. She’s provided food, refuge, education, clothing, and medical care for the young girl for well over a year now, with no familial compensation for the over $5K in out-of-pocket expenses she’s fronted.
- Last year, her welding truck broke down and required over $10K in repairs. This should not have been an issue because a large government contractor owed her at least that much for work she did for them. Unfortunately, that job is still unpaid and without costly litigation, does not look like it’s going to be ever paid.
- Still, Lindsey put her head down and kept working. She had $40K in contracts lined up for this year. That would have easily gotten her back on her feet financially. Anyone who knows her knows that she works like a BEAST! Unfortunately, all of those contracts were canceled because of the volatility in the business market right now. People are scared, and scared people don’t spend money on discretionary projects.
- And if matters weren’t bad enough, the VA decided to claw back compensation they had inadvertently overpaid her. So, VA benefits have also been greatly reduced during this really trying financial time.

Which brings us to the foreclosure notice… If our girl doesn’t come up with $10K really soon, she’s going to lose her property. Read: She (and her ward) will be homeless. And she will lose all of the equity she has built up there as well.

This is a really awful and rather unbelievable collision of events given how everything has ultimately transpired.
But it's also something that could happen to many of us - at any time.

By supporting Lindsey, you are not only providing vital financial assistance but also reminding her that "No person is a failure who has friends"—a quote from "It's a Wonderful Life" that I've held close to my heart for years; and one that propped me up during times I've been down as well.

Anyone who knows her would say that Lindsey certainly is a "character" and someone who has definitely added "zest" and much humor to many of our lives. She’s also given shelter to others and helped people and stray animals numerous times to which I've been a witness.

So be a friend, be a “sister,” and please make a donation to her—no matter how small.

Each donation, no matter the size, will help buy our girl the time she desperately needs to get the bank to back off.

Thank you so very, VERY much for your help and support!
