I am a disabled veteran who was Injured permanently on active duty in the USAF. Due to my injury I now need a wheelchair most of the time to get around. Two years ago, we applied for a grant from the VA for a handicapped van. Fast forward to now, still waiting to hear anything from the VA, and our current van dropped dead this past weekend. We were told it will cost $1000’s to fix it. The van is ten years old and only worth a $1000.
The VA said it is at least another two year wait to even be considered for the grant. We can’t be without a handicap van for another two years as we need to be able to go places with my handicap scooter and four kids. The cost this would incur on our family would be a terrible financial burden as a family living on a fixed income.  We are hoping and praying to raise the funds to help us with this purchase. Any amount you can contribute to help us would be so greatly appreciated.
