During my visit to Kenya, I had the opportunity to meet Caleb, an indigenous Maasai guide living in the village of Oloropil near the Maasai Mara National Park. Caleb’s village is not connected to the electric grid and lacks many modern conveniences, and I saw firsthand the level of poverty that the community faces. Since returning home, I have stayed in touch with Caleb and learned even more about the challenges his village endures, especially for children with disabilities.
Right now, there are five disabled children in Oloropil—Leteipa, Kashumba, Mayiani, Nashami, and Naishoo—who come from very poor backgrounds. Many are being raised by single mothers who struggle to provide for their families. These children need financial support to attend school, as each requires funds for school fees and supplies for the upcoming semester, which begins on January 4th. Without this help, they may miss out on the chance to get an education and improve their futures.
I am raising funds to cover the first semester’s school fees and supplies for all five children. Once the money is collected, I will send it to Caleb via Western Union and provide updates, including documentation and photos, to confirm the children’s school registration. Any amount of support that you can give to support these children will help them have a better shot at improving their lives.
