I am a disabled individual with an emotional support animal seeking financial help for her veterinary tests and treatments.

Over the course of my cat, Rheya's, life since adoption, she has developed chronic health issues that require imaging and diagnostic tests when she has flare-ups.

She currently has only one working kidney, chronic pancreatitis, and mild anemia. A few weeks ago, she had a really bad flare up where she persistently vomited and could not keep food and water down for consecutive days. She stopped eating and drinking almost completely and would do nothing but hide and sleep.

After taking her to the vet, they gave her IV fluids to keep her hydrated and performed a physical exam. The veterinarian found a large mass on her left side. The assumption at this point was that the already not-functioning and enlarged kidney was the mass the doctor felt, and it was much larger than previously noted. After fluids, Rheya finally began to eat and drink again on her own. We scheduled follow up tests and imaging for 7/23/26 to see clearly what was occuring internally.

Testing resulted in finding the non-working kidney to have filled with fluid and grown in size around her other abdominal organs as well as an infection. The hypothesis is that this was due to a kidney stone blocking the ureter and causing a backup of fluids.

She was treated with antibiotics only a few months ago for an infection for it to come back. We are waiting on the findings of laboratory referral urinalysis to adequately treat the bacteria, and in the meantime have started her on a basic antibiotic.

As a disabled individual on a fixed income, I have virtually no ability to afford these veterinary costs alone. I used a friend's Care Credit card to front the bill, but I must pay her back.

I ask for anyone who can spare the help to support me through this. This cat means the world to me as my emotional support animal and furry friend. She gets me through the day and brings me immense joy. I know there will come a time where she will no longer be in my life, but she has a lot of life left in her as long as I can continue to treat and care for her with your assistance.
