Hi. I’m Cassie - you can also see Indi in the photos.
In Dec 2024, after my team’s enormous success at our company we were all laid off. Since then Inhave filled out over 6,000 job applications, talked to several former HR reps and professional resume writers but I am still having trouble finding work.
One of my limitations is my disability. I was born with scoliosis and it’s always been painful but manageable until a work injury a few years ago. I’d had experience with remote work before that but this limited me to ONLY remote work at this point.
I have had 2 interviews since December, and thousands more “we’ve decided to make this an on-site role” conversations.
Without income, I’ve been forced to rely on the system but I got bounced around a lot only just now in September getting the proper healthcare assignment and just before that getting food assistance.
I’ve lost nearly everything else. I lost the credit I was rebuilding, most of my personal property when I was displaced and most of my friends who distance themselves from sad things. I’m now homeless living in a hotel fundraising every day for shelter, trying to survive.
My best friend and I both lost our place this year and I have been such a burden on her as she’s helped me come to terms with being disabled, losing my independence and being unable to provide for myself. She’s has come through for me more times than I can count and all I want for my birthday is for us to get out “Golden Girls House” together - to be reunited and take much of the burden off her shoulders.
Everything helps - including sharing.
Thanks,
Cassie <3
