hi, I’m sevyn. i’m a disabled black native trans girl. i’ve been crowdfunding for about a year and i’ve been able to wear gender-affirming clothes and makeup with the funds i’ve received which has alleviated my dysphoria greatly. but about a month after starting this gofundme i was placed in a position where i had to spend all of my transition funds on making sure my family and i had safe housing and food/groceries, which put a halt on my transition.
we’ve been chronically houseless for a year and my situation hasn’t improved much since we were forced to leave our house. for the past 3 months my dad’s job hasn’t paid him at all, which has put a great deal of pressure and stress on me to make sure i have enough funds to take care of everything. not only that, but since i have chronic nerve pains it takes a lot out of me physically to move every few days between hotels/airbnbs and i’m running out of funds very rapidly! we have no friends or family who are willing to help us with housing.
if I run out we'll be on the street, unfortunately. at first glance it might appear as though I have $24,670 on hand rn and I wish I did but I don't. I don't even have a tenth of that. rent where I live is extremely expensive because of the influx of tourists coming down here driving all the prices up and I've been crowdfunding since 2020, spending all donations that come my way on food, groceries and rent for me and my family.
my goal is to receive enough funds to have safe housing for 2-4 months and be able to continue transitioning and hopefully get on estrogen and have laser hair removal down the line. any amount of donations would help immensely and i’d appreciate it if everyone could share this far and wide across all social media platforms. it's urgent as I have to pay $100+ every day for rent plus food costs and I'm running very low atm.
