It's difficult attempting to live with a combination of Major Depressive disorder, Narcolepsy/hypersomnic disorders, and Generalised Anxiety. Due to being asleep for long periods of time, episodes of mild to severe vertigo are a consequential side-effect. Coupled with gradually intensifying or fluctuating levels of "brain fog," and being mostly unable to stay or be awake to execute necessary tasks (ie. taking or getting medication, etc), the everyday menial tasks of yore become nearly insurmountable.
Having the need for as much outdoor time, live social interactions, and physical activity as currently possible becomes more emphasized due to the aforementioned issues. However, such things cannot be alleviated or the solutions even reached if the accessibility to them is hindered.
Recently, an e-scooter which was used as a primary mobility device, was stolen. Without this, doing the following have either been significantly hindered, made more costly*, or entirely impossible:
- making it to medical or equally important appointments on-time
- non-ambulance ER visits (to avoid the fees)
- obtaining groceries
- obtaining medication
- getting a meal, when unable to make one
- depositing, withdrawing, or otherwise managing funds and accounts
- running other necessary/crucial errands
Moped-esque e-scooters in particular are being looked at over other mobility scooter models due to their increased range, relatively minimal profile, reduced weight, cargo and potential passenger capacity, and relatively lower up-front costs for what you'd get. An e-scooter with decent range and minimal profile is estimated to come around to about CA$3/4000, after taxes.

*"cost," in this context, is not exclusive to monetary/financial terms, but a broader spectrum of resources. In this case it could cover anything from energy/bodily autonomy, hours of wakefulness/time, food, etc.
With that out of the way, an enormous thank-you goes out to all donors. You are very much appreciated, and every dollar or penny counts!
