Dipanwita Ridi runs Bangladesh’s first licensed animal shelter, proudly serving rescued animals from across the country since 2013. She started this vital work entirely on her own, rescuing stray cats, dogs, and even a resident goat. Today, the shelter cares for 180+ animals who have been saved from streets and danger nationwide, given medical care, warmth, and a chance at a better life. All of this has been sustained through passion, determination, and YOUR generous donations.
Why this is urgent
- The shelter already has windows, but the glass panes are broken or damaged, leaving gaps for cold air, rain, and drafts.
- Winter is approaching, and minimizing exposure to the cold is critical for the animals’ health and comfort.
- The cost to replace the window glasses (labor + materials) is approximately 1000 USD.
- Without timely upkeep, the animals’ health and comfort are at risk, and the shelter may face higher medical needs.
