Help My Neighbor Recover $2,000 Lost After an Insurance Misunderstanding!!!

Hi everyone, my name is Brook, and I’m creating this fundraiser for my neighbor, a kind Vietnamese woman who’s been a U.S. citizen for many years. She worked at Men’s Wearhouse for over 20 years before being laid off earlier this year.

After losing her job, she did her best to keep her health insurance by paying a $666 premium each month—June, July, and August 2025—through WEX, as stated in the letter she received after being laid off. Unfortunately, when she went to Kaiser in August for medical care, she was told she did not have active insurance coverage.

Because English is her second language, she didn’t fully understand that the payments were not actually being applied to a valid policy. When I helped her call WEX for clarification, they confirmed she did not have a policy and refused to refund the nearly $2,000 she had paid, stating that their refund policy only covers 30 days.

We contacted Bank of America and filed multiple disputes, but both were denied—even after showing all the proof.

Now, she’s unemployed, without insurance, and has lost over $2,000 through no fault of her own.

This situation was shared on TikTok, where the video has over 2 million views, and many people suggested setting up a GoFundMe to help her recover what she lost. Every dollar raised will go directly to her to help replace the money she paid and cover essential expenses while she continues searching for work.

Once we reach the goal, I’ll be filming a video of me personally giving her the funds, so everyone who donates can see the impact of their kindness.
