Hi! My name is Ana and I am raising funds to help support my brother Diogo. Diogo was detained by ICE at the Miami International Airport coming back from Brazil over a month ago. Interestingly enough he has never been illegal and has held a green card since his arrival at age twelve. After being detained for 30 days he had his final court hearing scheduled for Septemer 22, 2025. Four days before his court hearing he was transferred to a new facility in Texas. He was given no opportunity to contact family or lawyers. This transfer canceled his court hearing in Florida, placed him under Texas jurisdiction and put his case back to square one. At this point, we do not know how long it will be until Diogo gets another final hearing.

Another worrisome layer is that Diogo has an auto immune disease called Sarcoidosis. His lawyers have made several attempts to reach out to ICE about granting parole based on his legal status and his medical issues. They have been unresponsive. They have done little to ensure that Diogo gets the medical attention that he needs and they have denied his many requests to see a medical doctor.

I am starting this GoFundMe because so many wonderful people have reached out and asked, how can I help? My response is through sending love, strength and prayers to my brother and countless others that are in similar situations. Spreading awareness of the situation. And, if you feel in your heart to contribute financially we would humbly and gratefully accept with so much appreciation. All contributions will be used to pay for lawyer fees, paperwork, and Diogo's monthly household financial commitments.
