We are raising funds to cover the expense of this trip. (June 12th through the 16th)

Get to know our purpose:
The Dino Nuggys of Marcus Whitman Elementary School are a group of 9 very capable (4th and 5th grade) students who are looking to create a pathway for their futures. This team was brought together through the First (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Lego League Challenge program (FLL) that allows students to be a part of a team where they compete in a 3 part challenge with other teams through hosted events. The challenges consist of an Innovation Project and presentation , a Lego Robot build and presentation, and a Lego Robot battle Competition. The Dino Nuggys team thrived at Regionals 2024 where they took home a finalist award for their Innovation and an invitation to State Competition. They continued to show growth at State 2025, bringing home the Rising All Star Award and have now been chosen to take part at the Invitational in Massachusetts.

Their pride in these accomplishments, and belief in their future, can be seen in the team's current project here: "Letters For Our Future" The letters are an effort to spread awareness of the importance of the First Lego League Challenge, Lego League Explorers, and First Tech Challenge in high-school. The Dino Nuggys and other League teams are conveying to their State representatives, and their nation, the importance of this League and the effects that the OSPI grant removal will have on their futures and their educational needs.

First Lego League Teams score in 3 areas
1. Innovation project creating solutions to real world problems. (Dino Nuggys were finalists at regionals earning the Innovation Award)
2. Designing and building a Lego Spike Robot and Presentation.
3. Building, coding, and programing the robot to compete in Robot Games, where they will complete missions to score points.

The Dino Nuggys were drawn from the top 20 teams in Washington State (482 total teams) after receiving the Rising All Stars Award at state competition.
This opportunity will expand their knowledge in all three program categories. They will bring home priceless experience and a wealth of knowledge to share with our region and partnering teams in addition to inspiring future generations.

We recently adjusted the trip cost 3/23/2025. Now that we know who is able to go, and we secured Dorms for our team at the event, and have meal plan options on campus. The registration fee of $1750 is now been paid in full (3/15/2025) thanks to the support we have received so far.
We were able to purchase flights, and raise enough to cover transportation costs from Boston to WPI. We appreciate all of the continued support. (4/27/2025)
